About

Hi, I'm İdil.

For 25 years I’ve worked where technology meets business — and the part I enjoy most has never changed: new technology, how it actually gets applied, and how it gets secured.

My career started hands-on in cyber security and grew into information security governance — administering firewalls, IDS/IPS and VPNs one year, leading an ISO 27001 certification and writing risk and business-continuity frameworks the next.

From there it moved into customer-facing work: technical account and project management as the single point of contact for a company’s most strategic enterprise clients, and then into telecom — carrier relations and large-scale commercial deals across Turkey and Central & Eastern Europe, with full P&L ownership and a team spread across three countries.

Since 2022 I’ve worked independently, as a consultant and fractional executive across Turkey’s technology ecosystem. I advise startups on product and go-to-market, build communities, produce industry events, and most recently serve as fractional COO of a social trading platform with AI at its core.

What connects all of it is translating technology into something people can actually act on — figuring out what they really need, positioning it against what they already have, and building the trust that makes hard decisions possible.

This site is where I write. The Brave New World — my newsletter on AI, Web3, emerging technology and security — now lives here, alongside more personal notes on what I’m reading, making, and thinking about outside of work.

What I’m doing now

  • Fractional COO at Bottom Up — a social trading platform with AI integration and a marketplace in development.
  • Advising technology startups on product, go-to-market and partnerships.
  • Writing The Brave New World, and publishing it here first.
  • Building and producing events across Turkey’s emerging-technology ecosystem.
